Useful And Essential Facts About Custom Exterior Siding

By Ronald Stewart

Traditionally, siding was made using wood so that it gave the home a wooden appearance. However, this has continued to change as several other materials are being adopted and used to make these products. Vinyl for example is being adopted a lot in this function because of its properties and benefits. Better technology is leading to the production of better and more versatile products for use today. This is what Custom exterior siding are all about.

Usually, siding is an additional layer that is normally installed on walls of a home so that it can provide protection and serve many other functions. Also, the term cladding can be used to refer to siding. The reason why polyvinyl is being adopted quite quickly is that it is capable of being made to look similar to traditional wood, which more people seem to prefer. Also, one can customize these commodities so that they can meet the different needs that different clients might have.

Houses already with siding as well as those that have never been installed with these products can both be installed with cladding. It is usually not that necessary to remove old siding in renovation projects so as to install new one. Rather, the new one is placed on top of the old one to create an additional layer. But, if the old cladding is extensively damaged by weather, old age, or fire then one may have to remove it and install another.

The traditional colors of siding were normally beige and other wimpy pastel colors. As a matter of fact most houses with older versions of cladding have the same repeating colors. But, as technology advanced, it opened a possibility of infusing vinyl cladding with many other colors. At the moment, it is possible for one to find siding of any color they want.

One can place an order with the manufacturer and have customized cladding made for them if they cannot get a commodity with the color they want in the market. Special orders from clients are accepted by many manufacturers. However, some extra amounts of money might have to be paid for these commodities. Custom orders are placed by many Americans annually.

The installation is usually performed in a manner as to account for climatic factors such as wind, heavy rainfall, snow, UV light, and mist among other factors. Typically, the cladding is installed so as to be able to withstand winds of up to 110 mph in speed. Such wind speeds do not exist in most places in the US and the world at large. Thus, cladding is safe for installation in most places.

Vinyl cladding finds more use since it provides particular benefits that one cannot get in other kinds of sidings like stone, concrete, and wood cladding. Ease of maintenance is one of the benefits. Once installed, vinyl cladding can be maintained easily. Wiping by use of a dump piece of cloth is enough maintenance work. Also, a garden horse can be used for removing any dirt that cannot be removed by wiping.

It is not necessary to use power pressures on vinyl cladding like it is with most other types of cladding. In fact, in case one decides to use a pressure washer, they should be careful with how they apply it. Improper use of pressure washers can cause moisture problems.
