Digg & The Benefits For Social Media Agencies

By Robert Sutter

When it comes to the networking platforms which exist, in this day and age, Digg seems to be overlooked. This doesn't mean that the website isn't worthwhile, since there are perks to be had. It's just that the likes of Facebook and Twitter seem to draw more attention from social media agencies across the board. With that said, though, there are many reasons why Digg matters to these agencies. Here are just a few talking points to mention.

For those who do not know, Digg is a platform that's designed for sharing websites, which can then be discovered by a number of parties. Some of these may be individuals who are looking to own their own businesses, while others may have been operating their own social media agencies for years. Whatever the case may be, there are a number of topics that Digg can present. Many of these may be of interest to firms along the lines of fishbat as well.

Those who would like to make the most out of this website should know about the idea of "digging" posts. When content is posted on said website, it has the potential to receive diggs, which are along the same line as likes on other social media platform. However, when a piece of content receives enough diggs, it can reach the front page. This is especially noteworthy for businesses which are trying to receive as much traction as possible, as leads can be attained through this method.

What you should be aware of, prior to using Digg, is that this website is not specifically meant for communication. Apart from the posting of comments, there's not a whole lot of engagement that is done on Digg, at least not in comparison to other well-known social media platforms. What this means is that you should not write off the likes of Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Digg has its own use and it should not be sacrificed for other websites.

If you want to talk about the ways in which Digg can come into play, you have to look at the idea of content. There are so many articles and documents worth sharing out, which is why I feel like Digg stands out so much. Different stories can be covered, which goes without saying, and they can be distributed for the broadest sense of awareness. If social media agencies are committed, they will be able to benefit tremendously from Digg.
