We Talk About Literacy Volunteering Opportunities

By Margaret Schmidt

Give yourself up to those who need you. There are people out there who are not as lucky as a lot of people. They were those who have not had the chance to get an education at a young age. They actually are illiterate, not having the simple ability to read or write because they were unfortunate enough to have not having the opportunity to do so. And because of that, it is up to volunteers to step up and do Literacy Volunteering Opportunities In Eastside Detroit.

This makes it our job, as those lucky ones to have received an education, to give them a leg up. We all are the same creatures created by God so we should never be selfish in our knowledge. We ought to give a hand and also volunteer in helping them how to read and how to write. In this society, it almost is impossible to belong if one cannot read and write.

They are going to be grateful in the end, no matter how frustrating and difficult the whole thing is for them. We, ourselves, had difficulty in the past in learning, so it would be the same for them too. Depending on the age though, it could get easy or hard on both parties, for the teacher and the student.

That does not say equally for all adults. There are just a lot of them out there that are extremely stubborn. That is normal since we are humans. Unfortunately for the teachers, it makes their jobs hard. Nonetheless, it would still be the fault of the teachers if the student is not doing well.

As for those who have to teach the older generation, they can be just as bad. They may have the maturity that children lack, but their easily the hardest to teach simple things. This would make them a lot more stubborn and hard headed most of the time but not impossible. It might take some getting used to for them.

Speaking of a different language, think about how hard that is for the students. While fun, that will most likely be hard because they are so used to the fundamentals of their own native language. Changing it to incorporate the new language right into their brains is going to confuse the cells for a while.

This is why adults are harder to be taught because they would have a hard time adapting. This mostly is why they likely are harder to teach in reading, as silly as it seems. You would think that since they are older and could understand better than kids that they are the easiest to teach. That actually is not the case most of the time.

Just because they talk does not mean that is all there is to it. Students have to learn or else what is the point of even teaching in the first place? They should have a lot of focus as well as patience on their part because this is not a one way kind of interaction. Teachers do their hardest to give out so students so receive properly.

Now, if he were to go for a guitar, then that is a different story altogether. It will definitely be very hard to do. It would probably take a while for him to master it, being used to the drums.
