Instead, a device called an electronic leak detector may be utilized to find the source of the leak and workers can dig from there. Depending on the extent of the damage, the repairs will usually take anywhere from 4-6 hours to a full day.

Landowners and companies maintaining lines are both responsible for pipework. Piping infrastructures are presently suffering from lack of funding. The integrity of underground networks situated in earthquake prone areas can be affected by the frequent ground movements.

Interruptions in the service and additional expenses come with repairs. To increase the lifespan of pipes and avoid costly repairs, shock absorbers must be fitted around pipes to strengthen them against harsh shifts in temperature, soil changes, and ground movements. Additionally, landowners must see to it that experienced utility managers oversee any necessary repairs or replacements.
