By nature, bluenose dogs lack melanin since their births. Melanin is normally present in just enough amounts, to enhance a dark or black coat, nails as well as gums and nosing. When melanin referred to as eumelanin in dark-coated pit-bulls is missing or is in scanty quantities than it should naturally be, the present melanin is inadequate to create normal coloring. Therefore, a light shade or color is the outcome.

In archaic and ancient times, red nosed puppies were the popular side. Their origin was motivated by the absenteeism of melanin present in other brown dogs. This made their fur appear somewhat rusty and reddish. Their gums as well as noses had a pink or red appearance. Their popularity has however dwindled by alarming proportions, and the rage has now shifted gears to the bluenose breeds.

Breeders of these bluish dogs usually take deposits way in advance from willing buyers. They majorly cost between one thousand and five thousand dollars, obviously depending on the quality of the animal, coloring patterns, appearance of the puppy and the breeder reputation. However, buyers need to be very particular and vigilant when purchasing, so that they are not taken for a ride by greedy breeders who are only interested in the money and not the quality and health of the animals.

Therefore, ensure you lay stringent measures of ensuring you purchase from a legitimate certified breeder. Once you have purchased, also ensure that the pet remains healthy and proactive. Ensure that the pet is extensively checked out by a proficient pet, immediately.

It is important for you to protect your valued pet and investment by getting him properly vaccinated periodically. Vets may recommend heart worm medications each month. Additionally, ensure you update the vaccinations at least after a year or two. Schedule your dog for random stool samples analyses for instance every half a year. This helps in detecting worms and other parasites.
